We are seeking a seasoned professional with extensive experience in financial services, personal injury insurance, and/or legal sectors to lead our Operational Risk team. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for enabling risk-aware decision-making and governance excellence across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the second line operational risk function to embed risk-aware decision-making and governance excellence">
  • Developing and implementing operational risk frameworks, policies, and management strategies ensuring regulatory compliance">
  • Designing delivery standards, service levels, and risk reporting to enhance performance monitoring">
  • Leading a team of trusted business risk partners working with business owners to identify, monitor, and mitigate key risks">
  • Owning WorkCover's risk management system ensuring it's fit for purpose and actively utilised across the organisation">
  • Promoting a positive culture where risk information is openly shared, discussed, and addressed">
  • Developing and implementing disaster recovery and incident reporting strategies to safeguard business continuity">
  • Proactively assessing risks and opportunities, driving continuous improvement solutions">
  • Implementing operational risk prevention, detection, and mitigation strategies and tools">
  • Compiling and presenting operational risk data and insights for Executive Leadership Team, Board, and Risk Committee reporting">

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in business, risk or a similar discipline and current professional body membership. They will also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to navigate complex risk landscapes with confidence.
