Role Overview:

As a Senior Technical Lead, you will find a perfect balance between technical delivery and people management. This position offers the opportunity to enhance your own design capabilities in high voltage (HV) design while nurturing and developing a team of pioneering engineers. You will manage a team of 3 direct reports and 9 indirect reports, guiding them to become industry leaders through development and guidance. You will play a crucial role in technical design while ensuring operational excellence and contributing to a safe, progressive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of emerging engineers, fostering their growth and development. Provide technical and managerial guidance to help them reach their full potential.
  • Design Delivery: Deliver on your own design capabilities across HV design projects, ensuring they meet scope, budget, and schedule requirements.
  • Project Management: Attend project kick-off meetings, liaise with customers to determine project requirements, and work with project managers to achieve outcomes.
  • Business Improvement: Leverage technology to continuously improve business operations. Ensure team compliance with quality systems and maintain high standards of safety and performance.
  • R&D Initiatives: Lead R&D initiatives to develop innovative products and solutions, ensuring projects have less than 2% of costs in warranty, and aim for 20% project customisation with 80% product standardisation.

Qualifications:

  • A strategic thinker with a strong technical background in HV design.
  • Proven experience in managing engineering teams, particularly with engineers early in their careers.
  • Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
