Job Overview

Macro Recruitment is seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead innovative projects within a national heavy engineering design firm in Newcastle. As a senior-level Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for interfacing with customers and leading a project team of engineers and design draftspeople.

  • Requires Australian citizenship and over 10 years of project and design engineering experience.
  • Salary guide: $115,000 - $130,000.
  • Newcastle region.
Key Responsibilities

You will be involved in design and manufacture of special vehicles, including FCV, Ambulance, Urban Fire, Country Fire, Management Trucks, Emergency Vehicles, etc. Responsibilities will also include tendering, design, manufacturing, commissioning, and ongoing production support and quality checks.

  • Prepare general assessments (GA's) and bills of manufacture (BOM's), manufacturing drawings for procurement and fabrication teams.
  • Provide high value in the prototyping phase, jig making, and streamlining processes.
  • Liaise with stakeholders internally and externally and participate in weekly internal meetings and client meetings.
