Collins Class Submarine Support Specialist

An exciting opportunity exists for an Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) specialist to join our team, working on the Collins Class Submarine Life of Type Extension Project.
">The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring Australia's submarine capability remains operational beyond their initial life of type. This involves planning and conducting materiel and logistics related acquisition tasks to ensure the Collins Class Submarines are supportable for their extended life of type.
The Role
- Develop and maintain project ILS plans to ensure project objectives are met
- Engage and communicate with stakeholders to identify, respond and provide advice on issues to achieve project outcomes
- Review and assess ILS related acquisition products
As a member of the ILS section, you will work closely with Navy, National Shipbuilding Sustainment Group (NSSG) and Contractors to ensure the success of the project. You will have access to generous and attractive working conditions as an Australian Public Servant in Defence.
About Our Team
The Collins Submarine Program within NSSG is responsible for the maintenance and programmed upgrade of Australia's Collins Class submarines. The Program works in partnership with the Royal Australian Navy and Industry to deliver the strategic submarine capability to the nation.
You will have knowledge or experience in the delivery or assurance of ILS or Materiel Logistics. Key attributes and experience we are looking for include:
- At least four years of experience in the planning, practice or assurance of ILS or Materiel Logistics;
- A well-developed understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements applicable to submarine acquisition, upkeep, update and upgrades;
- Tertiary qualified through recognised degree qualifications or relevant vocational training;
- Capable of reviewing, assuring and developing the quality of work undertaken by others;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, sound technical verbal and written communication abilities;
- Accountable for achieving ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
