About the Opportunity

As a key figure in our organization, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of submarines through the provision of critical services and contributing to the maintenance of safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee submarine-related activities with precision.
  • Conduct a critical coordinator role for designated periods, driving results and continuous improvement.
  • Provide expert guidance and advice to personnel, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Lead Submarine Plan of the Day (SPOD) meetings, producing comprehensive minutes as a member of the Submarine Safety Council during maintenance availabilities.
  • Conduct and coordinate witnessing activities, functionality tests, and other supporting initiatives to maintain the SUBSAFE boundary.
  • Effectively manage and operate the Submarine Safety Control Centre.
  • Maintain and enhance the SUBSAFE certification boundary during maintenance activities.
  • Make informed decisions quickly, prioritizing SUBSAFE integrity and compliance.
About You
  • A seasoned Lead Auditor in Quality Management Systems, with expertise in maintaining high standards.
  • Possessing advanced knowledge in SUBSAFE Level 3 (Material Safety Course), along with relevant trade certification and a minimum of 5 years' experience in maritime, naval, or dockyard environments.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of success with Collins Class Submarines, showcasing a deep understanding of systems and equipment on board ships and/or submarines.
  • Hold Defence industry experience and/or possess detailed knowledge of submarine operations, specifically in areas of equipment, systems, and personnel safety.
  • Exhibit strong computer and MS Office skills, as well as exceptional time management abilities and adaptability in juggling changing priorities.
  • Hold a current Australian Defence Security clearance or eligibility to obtain one to the level of NV1.
