Senior Legal Counsel Job Summary

This critical appointment reflects the opportunities for growth and recognition within our organization.

  • You will partner closely with our AusPac business on complex and high-impact commercial and compliance matters.
About the Role

In this pivotal position, you will work collaboratively with the General Counsel, AusPac team and other stakeholders on strategic legal matters impacting our organization.

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide array of legal documents.
  • Advising on and negotiating project documentation.
  • Monitoring relevant laws and regulations.
  • Providing advice on litigation and dispute resolution.
  • Supporting development of organizational precedents and trainings.
  • Providing advice and direction on competition law matters affecting the AusPac Region.
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Managing provision of external legal services.
Key Responsibilities
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Law (honours preferred).
  • Qualified to practice Law in Australia.
  • A minimum of 8 years' post-qualification experience in corporate/projects/commercial legal practice.
  • Experience and expertise in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of anti-bribery and corruption, trade sanctions compliance, and anti-money laundering regulations.
  • Proven track record in managing external counsel and improving processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence at all levels of an organisation.
