Heavy Diesel Mechanic

Career Opportunity:

We are seeking a Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Goonyella Mine. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for carrying out repairs and preventative maintenance on our mobile fleet, which comprises of Caterpillar, Komatsu and Liebherr mining equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out repairs and preventative maintenance on the mobile fleet at Goonyella Mine.
  • Carry out repairs both in the field and workshop.
  • Perform inspections to determine condition and suitability to return to service.
  • Complete preventative maintenance such as inspections, servicing and adjustments.
  • Conduct timely breakdown related maintenance such as troubleshooting, repairs and replacements.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant diesel mechanic/heavy vehicle trade qualifications or equivalent trade.
  • Proven experience with Caterpillar, Liebherr, Hitachi and Komatsu mining equipment highly desirable.
  • High levels of initiative and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Safety focus with high attention to detail to abide by site safety processes.

Work Environment:

Our mine is located in the Bowen Basin of Central Queensland, approximately 30 kilometres from the town of Moranbah. BMA's Goonyella Mine is one of Queensland's largest coal mines.
