About this Opportunity :
An exciting opportunity has become available for a passionate and skilled Visual Communication Design teacher to join a senior Catholic secondary school in Melbourne's western suburbs. This role starts in Term 3 and involves teaching VCD to Year 11 and 12 students in a well-resourced and supportive environment.
With excellent facilities and a strong focus on student engagement, the school provides an ideal setting for delivering high-quality, creative, and practical design education. You'll be part of a collaborative staff team dedicated to student growth and success in the senior years.
Key Responsibilities :- Plan and deliver VCE Visual Communication curriculum in line with relevant standards.
- Develop engaging lessons that cover key design concepts, skills, and assessments.
- Facilitate practical learning in areas such as graphic design, typography, illustration, photography, and digital media.
- Design and assess student work, providing timely, constructive feedback.
- Integrate industry-standard software and technology into teaching.
- Participate in professional development to stay current with design trends and practices.
- Collaborate with colleagues and industry partners to enrich the program and provide real-world learning experiences.
- Completed relevant qualifications in Education.
- Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration.
- Have unrestricted working rights in Australia.
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching VCE VCD in Australia or NZ.
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
- Commencing as a full-time role beginning from Term 3.
- Teach Visual Communication Design to Years 11-12 within a school that celebrates and prioritises the Arts.
