We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Child Safety Support Officer.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team and provide high-quality, culturally appropriate child protection services to children, families, and carers serviced by the Child Safety Service Centre.
As a Senior Child Safety Support Officer, you will be responsible for working collaboratively with key stakeholders, children, and parents to support the establishment and strengthening of effective safety and support networks, including connection to extended family and community.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with children, families, carers, and service providers to support children and parents to meet their identified case plan goals.
About the RoleThis is a full-time position that requires a high level of skill, knowledge, and experience in the field of child protection.
You will be responsible for providing individualised, high-quality, and culturally appropriate supports to children and families subject to tertiary child protection intervention, including facilitation of positive family connection, referrals, and advocacy for services.
Other responsibilities include preparing and maintaining quality case records in accordance with departmental case management requirements.
You will be required to participate effectively as a team member in a multidisciplinary team to deliver well-planned family support services to vulnerable children and families.
This role also involves actively contributing to a culture of continuous learning, training, and professional development to ensure practice knowledge and skills are contemporary and evidence-based.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of the principles of child protection and a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of children.
You will also need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, managers, and external stakeholders.
- Provide high-quality, comprehensive casework support and advice to inform decisions about the safety and protective needs of children where complex child protection concerns are present.
- Effectively and positively engage with children, families, carers, and service providers to support children and parents to meet their identified case plan goals.
