Geotechnical Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Specialist to join our team in Wagga Wagga. As a key member of our Pavements & Geotechnical Services unit, you will conduct investigations and analyses related to pavements, geotechnical, and materials for infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in Geology or Civil Engineering (Geotechnical) and have substantial working experience with pavements and geotechnical/site investigations for infrastructure projects, particularly in pavement rehabilitation.

You will excel in preparing detailed geotechnical reports, slope risk assessments/remediations, providing specialist advice, and effectively managing technical risk. Your deep understanding of industry standards and ability to plan and lead geotechnical investigations in various conditions will be essential in this role.

As a Geotechnical Specialist, you will work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, manage geotechnical risk by developing standards and practices, and adapt to multiple work streams and project needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct investigations and analyses related to pavements, geotechnical, and materials for infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, slope risk assessments/remediations, and provide specialist advice.
  • Develop and implement standards and practices to manage geotechnical risk.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in Geology or Civil Engineering (Geotechnical).
  • Substantial working experience with pavements and geotechnical/site investigations for infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
