About the Opportunity

This role presents a rare chance to contribute to a groundbreaking project, the SSN AUKUS Build Program. As part of this program, you will play a crucial role in enhancing Australian industrial capability within the AUKUS supply chain.

The Industrial Capability Development Lead supports the Industry Engagement and Development Strategy, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and fostering meaningful industrial outcomes through proactive stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of CoA Industry, AIC policy, and the Australian Defence Industry landscape.
  • Provide expert advice to the AUKUS program Lead team and ASC Executive on industry development strategies.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Australian industry capability, engage with industry associations, and build relationships with enabling organizations.
  • Support the identification and engagement of Australian industry capability, contribute to the AIC Strategy and Plan, and develop business case options for capability development.
  • Report on industry engagement performance, manage risks related to the Australian Industry Engagement strategy, and ensure compliance with program requirements.
  • Foster a culture of recognition and innovation, setting clear expectations and communicating business strategy and goals effectively.
About You

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Tertiary qualification in commerce, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a supply chain or similar industry-focused role, including government policies and initiatives relating to Australian Industry Capability (AIC).
  • Experience with industrial uplift strategies and grants programs.
  • Familiarity with maritime design, build, and sustainment processes.
  • Strong writing, time management, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build credibility and influence external stakeholders, including government entities.
