Australian Industry Capability Manager

ASC is seeking an experienced Australian Industry Capability (AIC) professional to contribute to the development and implementation of the SSN-AUKUS AIC Strategy and Plan. This role will play a key part in maximising Australian industry participation in the SSN AUKUS program.
About the Role
As the Australian Industry Capability Manager, you will be responsible for leading the AIC program of work with key suppliers and stakeholders. Your primary objective will be to increase sovereign Australian Capability within the Supply Chain to support SSN-AUKUS in accordance with the Shipbuilders contractual requirements, AIC government policy or other such frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the executable SSN-AUKUS AIC Strategy and Plan
- Provide expert advice to the SSN AUKUS lead team and ASC Executive on matters pertaining to AIC Strategy and Plan execution and Australian supplier participation in the SSN-AUKUS Supply Chain
- Effectively manage a team through clear communication, setting of precise and consistent guardrails, managing outcomes, and building culture
- Interface with Procurement Managers consulting on priorities and available industry capabilities to achieve program strategic objectives
- Analyse and evaluate supplier AIC proposals, in consultation with key stakeholders and technical experts, identifying and pursuing options for increased AIC outcomes as well as contributing to the broader supply chain evaluation process
- Support development and deployment of a suite of AIC documents and templates to assist in delivery of a consistent AIC proposals in collaboration with cross functional AIC and Supply Chain leads
- Lead the identification and mitigation of risks related to the execution of the SSN-AUKUS AIC Strategy and Plan
About You
- Essential: tertiary qualification in commerce, supply chain or a related field
- Desired:
- A minimum of 8 years' experience in a senior Supply Chain role
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Australian defence industry landscape, including government policies and initiatives relating to AIC
- Demonstrated delivery of AIC artefacts and outcomes
- Highly developed writing skills, excellent time management and organisation skills
- Proficiency in building credibility and influencing external and/or international stakeholders (including government)
- Demonstrated ability to identify and implement interventions and high-quality solutions to complex problems
- Experience within a maritime design, build and sustainment process
- Strong analytical skills with experience in reporting
- Knowledge of enterprise risk management
- Change champion, fostering continuous improvement
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
