Job Opportunity:

  • Oversee a team of boilermakers, providing guidance under the supervision of senior managers.
  • Contribute to production planning in the workshop, with the goal of achieving maximum productivity and efficiency gains.
  • Carry out fabrication duties and welding techniques, including GMAW and FCAW, and demonstrate proficiency in AS1554.1 weld tests.
  • Accurately read and interpret technical specifications and drawings.
  • Develop and mentor apprentices and production staff.
  • Offer solutions and provide support and guidance.
  • Provide technical information and advice to colleagues and operations personnel.
  • Maintain workshop infrastructure, including plant and services, tools and equipment, jigs and fixtures, materials handling, etc.
  • Ensure all workshop activities comply with ISO9001 standards, company policies and procedures, and relevant safety regulations.
  • Participate in internal and external audits.
  • Assist in developing and implementing capital proposals.

Requirements:

  • Recognised trade qualification (Engineering Fabrication preferred).
  • +5 years' experience in fabrication trades within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of safe working practices.
  • Strong numerical reasoning skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Understanding of process improvement techniques.
