As a Fabrication Team Leader, you will oversee skilled teams in a dynamic and safety-focused environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring high-quality production, mentoring tradespeople and apprentices, and driving continuous improvement in maintenance and performance.About the OpportunityThis position requires strong business acumen and stakeholder engagement skills, as well as a proven experience leading teams in fabrication and welding environments. You will manage welding operations, collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams, and drive performance improvements through coaching and clear goal-setting.Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor Tradespeople, Leading Hands, and Apprentices to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes.
  • Manage welding operations, ensuring strict adherence to quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to execute scheduled work and implement maintenance strategies.
  • Drive performance improvements through coaching, feedback, and clear goal-setting.
  • Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety regulations and foster a safe, inclusive work environment.
  • Support training initiatives in consultation with internal stakeholders.
  • Champion continuous improvement and change management processes.
About YouWe are looking for an individual with relevant Trade Certificate and Certificate 10 Welding Supervisor (AS 1796) qualifications. A Cert IV in Management or equivalent leadership qualifications would be highly desirable. Your experience should include heavy fabrication, preferably with Certified Commodity Shipbuilding Materials Hull Welding, and intermediate computing skills.
