Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Library and Information Services to lead our library team.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the educational environment of our School, championing a broad, liberal education for girls and young women.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the School Library, delivering innovative student and teacher-focused library services, conducting research, curating collections, and maintaining archives and library spaces.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing strategic plans underpinned by the School's teaching strategies to achieve optimal learning outcomes for students.
  • Fostering a learning environment that promotes deep learning and excellence in teaching.
  • Providing vision and purpose to the Library staff, aligning with the School's culture and ethics.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A master's degree in library and information science or a relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA).
  • Leadership and collaborative skills, with a commitment to maintaining a high-performing school culture.
  • Queensland College of Teachers registration or eligibility.
  • Extensive knowledge of contemporary library services, with a passion for inspiring young women through education.
