Weir Minerals seeks a skilled Heavy Machinery Technician for general fitting and assembly duties to all forms of equipment. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly skilled, collaborative team of tradespeople with opportunities for leadership development and career growth.

About the Role:
This rotating roster position consists of 4 days/nights on, 4 days/nights off, offering attractive allowances. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimising plant operational capacity, including induction furnaces, sand transportation systems, CNC machines and hydraulic presses.

Key Responsibilities:
* Completing workshop repairs and refurbishments on critical equipment
* Inspecting and repairing mechanical infrastructure
* Repair, maintain and test equipment as per scope of work
* Preventative maintenance of plant and equipment, with a focus on maintaining safety and maximising production
* Resolve operational and technical equipment concerns
* Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture

Job Requirements:
* Minimum qualification – Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Mechanical Fitter)
* Ability to work with mathematical concepts
* Experience with heavy machinery, fault finding, repairs of equipment
* Welding and machining experience is desirable but not essential
* Ability to effectively communicate and write reports
* Competent with the use of CMMS (computerized maintenance management system)

Our estimated salary for this role is $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience.
