About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Machinery Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Weir Minerals in Artarmon. This is a unique opportunity to work with heavy machinery and equipment, providing safe, effective, and timely mechanical maintenance to optimise plant operational capacity.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical fitting and engineering, with experience working with heavy machinery, fault finding, and repairs of equipment. In addition, they will possess excellent communication skills, be able to write reports, and be competent in the use of CMMS (computerized maintenance management system).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completing workshop repairs and refurbishments on critical equipment.
  • Inspecting and repairing mechanical infrastructure.
  • Repair, maintain, and test equipment as per scope of work.
  • Preventative maintenance of plant and equipment, with a focus on maintaining safety and maximising production.
  • Resolve operational and technical equipment concerns.

Requirements:

  • Minimum qualification - Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Mechanical Fitter).
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts.
  • Experience with heavy machinery, fault finding, repairs of equipment.
  • Welding and machining experience is desirable, but not essential.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and write reports.
  • Competent with the use of CMMS (computerized maintenance management system).

What We Offer:

  • An attractive salary package, estimated to be around $90,000-$110,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • A rotating roster consisting of 4 days/nights on, 4 days/nights off.
