Naval Architect

This is an exciting opportunity to join a multi-disciplined Engineering team in Melbourne. As a leading company in the Maritime and Defence industry, we are committed to growing Australia's shipbuilding and sustainment capability.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering systems for naval ships within our General Design division. Key responsibilities include:

  • Structural Calculations: Performing calculations to required standards.
  • Ship Systems Management: Ensuring ship systems are designed, delivered, and maintained within Class Society rules and requirements.
  • Systems Engineering Assessments: Conducting assessments of General Design requirements to confirm compliance with standards and platform specifications.
  • Deliverable Documentation: Documenting deliverables in accordance with our Management Plans.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Naval Architecture or a related field.
  • Experience with 2D CAD (AutoCAD) and familiarity with 2D/3D CAD and other specialist software.
  • Familiarity with Class Society (primarily Lloyds Register Rules) and IMO requirements.
  • Eligibility to qualify for ITAR clearance.
