Consumer Communications and Projects Lead Job Description

At ASIC, you can be the change that ensures a fair, strong and efficient financial system for the benefit of all Australians. Contribute to delivering on ASIC's purpose, vision, and strategic priorities to help maintain the integrity of the financial system and protect consumers from harm.

This role offers the opportunity to develop and deliver consumer-focused campaigns and external communications that people remember. You'll be front and centre working in a team that will drive proactive external communications to reach and engage consumers and investors and help ensure Moneysmart remains one of Australia's leading, trusted source of independent financial information. Working collaboratively across internal teams and with external partners, you will develop and deliver impactful, integrated communications campaigns and identify and execute media relations activities.

About the Role:

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the consumer communications strategy aligned with ASIC's strategic priorities and the MoneySmart program.
  • Lead and deliver integrated, consumer-focused projects and campaigns, including the MoneySmart external communications plan.
  • Manage relationships with creative agencies to deliver innovative, informative and engaging communications projects.
  • Collaborate with internal communications teams to design and deliver impactful campaigns.
  • Identify and executive media relations activities, manage ASIC's consumer and investor media engagement, write media releases, pitches, spokesperson briefings, thought leadership, and social content, working closely with the Senior Manager Consumer Campaigns and Content.
  • Use research, insights and performance analytics to inform campaign planning and optimisation, and oversee budgets, timelines and deliverables in line with ASIC policies.

About You:

  • You will have tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing or a related field, alongside 6–8 years' experience in communications, media or public relations, ideally across digital, social and traditional platforms.
  • You will have demonstrated success managing end-to-end consumer campaigns, preferably within an agency, consumer brand financial services or government organisation.
  • A solid grasp of the Australian media landscape, track record of writing and pitching compelling stories, and strong project management will be key to your success.
  • Experience in financial services will be highly regarded (but is not essential).

Benefits:

  • Attractive superannuation
  • Additional leave entitlements
  • 50/50 hybrid work-from home model
  • Flexible work arrangements
  • Assistance for study and professional development

About ASIC:

ASIC's remit is one of the broadest of regulators across the world. ASIC regulates corporations, markets, financial services and consumer credit and monitors and promotes market integrity and consumer protection in the Australian financial system. Through our enforcement work, we hold to account those who contravene the law, working to achieve strong outcomes that address the greatest consumer and investor harms.
