A Procurement and Contract Specialist is required to work as an integral portion of the procurement team to facilitate award and contract execution of major subcontracts and supply agreements.
Key Responsibilities- This role coordinates with relevant technical stakeholders and legal counsel to streamline negotiations process.
- The Procurement and Contract Specialist leads commercial negotiations between PCL and major subcontractors and suppliers, including coordination with external counsel and drafting of commercial terms where applicable throughout the early works phase of contract.
- This position participates in commercial negotiations between PCL and Clients to ensure commercial term alignment across PCL's business.
- The Procurement and Contract Specialist supports the timely resolution of commercial or contractual matters with due consideration of alternative or competing priorities, interfacing with engineering, legal and transaction specialists.
- This role manages the preparation of procurement, packaging and delivery plans including tender evaluation plans and contract management plans, including obtaining relevant sign offs from stakeholders and advisors.
- The Procurement and Contract Specialist prepares briefings and submissions in relation to approval for the different procurement phases of projects.
- This role monitors contractor progress and compliance against contractual obligations throughout the delivery phase.
- The Procurement and Contract Specialist analyses and assesses all claims during the delivery phase.
- Prior experience in preparing or reviewing tender documentation, evaluating tender proposals, negotiating contract terms and conditions, and awarding major construction contracts and other significant procurement packages within various delivery models.
- Experience working across specialist disciplines to resolve complex contractual issues and document the basis for decisions.
- Strong understanding of project risk, cost, and project reporting processes.
- Prior experience within a top tier Australian construction organisation, OEM, or developer. Previous EPC experience is an asset.
