Medical Receptionist Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Receptionist to join our dynamic team in the Emergency Department. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual to make a meaningful contribution to the delivery of exceptional patient care.

As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the initial point of contact for patients and their families, providing a warm and welcoming experience. Your excellent communication skills, empathy, and attention to detail will ensure accurate support and genuine compassion during high-pressure situations.

This is a 12-hour-per-week permanent part-time position with fixed-term opportunities for further and ongoing hours. We offer flexible work arrangements, salary packaging, access to a staff fitness program, and recognition programs.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Accurately registering and admitting Emergency Department patients
  • Maintaining timely and accurate data entry into clinical and administrative systems
  • Providing efficient and reliable administrative assistance to clinical teams
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail in data entry and record management
  • Ability to remain composed and organized in a fast-paced environment
  • High-level computer literacy and proficiency across various software systems
  • Minimum keyboard speed of 40 WPM
  • Previous experience in a hospital or similar healthcare setting (desirable)
