The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Humanities Department and developing engaging programs that foster a love of Humanities subjects in students.
- Provide effective leadership to develop engaging programs
- Plan, deliver and assess effective teaching programs in line with Australian Professional Standards and QLD curriculum frameworks
- Contribute to the Secondary leadership to support and enact strategic teaching and learning priorities
Key Responsibilities:
Effective leadership is essential to drive the Humanities Department forward. The Head of Department will lead by example, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages staff and students to reach their full potential.
Teaching and Assessment:
- Deliver high-quality lessons that meet the needs of all learners
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback
- Develop and implement assessment strategies that align with curriculum requirements
Requirements:
Australian-qualified teacher with QLD Teacher's Registration or registration with another state are required for this role. Additionally, applicants should possess:
- Combination of Humanities subjects as main teaching set
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
- Possession of a passion for educating young people
