Heavy Plant Fitter

We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Plant Fitter to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining and repairing heavy machinery and equipment
  • Diagnosing and rectifying technical issues
  • Ensuring optimal performance and efficiency of plant operations
  • Collaborating with colleagues to achieve common goals
  • Providing training and guidance to junior staff members

This is a full-time permanent role working an 8 hour shift, Monday to Friday, with overtime available.

A strong mechanical background and excellent fault-finding capabilities are essential for this position. The successful candidate will have experience as a Fitter and possess a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance tasks on heavy plant equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and rectify technical issues with heavy plant equipment using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques
  • Quality Control: Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards, adhering to relevant regulations and safety protocols
  • Training and Development: Provide guidance and training to junior staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Fitter in a heavy plant environment
  • Skillset: Excellent mechanical aptitude, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to work at heights
  • Qualifications: Relevant trade qualifications or certifications, such as a Certificate III in Engineering
