Job Summary
We are seeking a professional to join our team as a Training Development Specialist. This role will be responsible for planning and implementing workforce training and competency strategies and programs.
About the Role
The Training Development Specialist will work closely with various teams to identify and implement training plans in line with national competencies and enterprise competencies. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the development of business targets/initiatives and performance measures for operational / functional areas;
- Maintaining the annual training plan and working with stakeholders to identify and develop strategies, policies, procedures and systems to improve workforce learning;
- Monitoring and managing compliance with RTO Regulatory requirements;
- Identifying and analysing current and future workforce capability requirements and developing appropriate strategic training delivery plans;
- Implementing and governing systems to ensure effective induction of employees and contractors;
- Developing and facilitating non-accredited courses to the business unit;
- Providing advice and coaching on achieving compliance and best practice for Training, WHS, Rail Safety & Environmental matters when required;
- Maintaining knowledge of best practice adult and vocational learning practices and processes;
- Ensuring the requirements of Safe Work Australia and SafeWork NSW, Authority are met;
- Implementation of Training Plans and regular audits of internal processes;
- Responsible for the management and maintenance of all training and safety record requirements;
- Coordinating and administering training cycles;
- Preparation of reports for internal and external stakeholders;
- Ensuring effective document control for the business to meet business needs.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A relevant tertiary or degree level qualification;
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment;
- Experience with SAP desirable;
- Proficient skills in Microsoft suite: Outlook, MS Word, Excel, Access;
- Demonstrated experience in implementing Lean philosophy, tools and techniques;
- Excellent knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools and techniques;
- Project Management experience;
- Experience gained in the rail, automotive, military, defence, avionics or any other safety critical environment;
- Customer focus, team orientation, accountability and results-driven attitude;
- Demonstrated ability to work in an integrated team environment and willingness to learn.
