Support Specialist

Araluen is a registered NDIS provider, delivering support services to adults with disability in their homes, communities, and service bases.

We put people in charge of their supports – we respect and promote that NDIS funding should result in choice-driven and tangible improvements to quality of life for all participants.

Dedicated Support Specialists play a crucial role in enabling participants to have a great life. We aim to assist in the development of skills to increase independence, promote empowerment, and encourage choice and control in all areas.

This role works under limited supervision with readily available assistance. Staff are encouraged to use their initiative, facilitate supports, and provide each participant with the necessary support as directed by them one person at a time in an inclusive way.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a holistic, responsive, and person-centred approach to support participants.
  • Assist in the development of skills to increase independence, promote empowerment, and encourage choice and control.
  • Work collaboratively with participants, families, and other stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Utilize effective communication and problem-solving skills to address challenges and ensure positive outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate thoughtful judgement and common sense.
  • Effective organisational skills, including prioritising tasks and managing time efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, including consultation, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high-quality service delivery and upholding participants' human rights.
