
After Hours Support Professional

Work as a dedicated support professional providing 24/7 assistance to young people in residential care homes. Key responsibilities include delivering phone support, guiding youth workers through challenging situations and offering practical advice to manage incidents effectively.
This role requires driving to various locations to provide in-person support, assess situations and offer hands-on assistance during after-hours incidents.
The successful candidate will be expected to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism, compassion and a strong commitment to safeguarding the well-being of each individual.
Key Skills and Qualifications:- A minimum qualification of Diploma of Youth Work or equivalent is required.
- Aboriginal staff may have qualifications desirable but experience and willingness to participate in training is essential.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in youth services, residential care or supported accommodation are highly regarded.
- Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families, is also desired.
- Demonstrated experience working therapeutically with children and young people who have experienced significant challenges and trauma is necessary.
This position plays a vital part in creating a secure supportive environment where young people feel safe and empowered outside regular working hours.
