Emergency Department Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Department Consultant to provide high-quality emergency medical services within the Riverland community and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver exceptional clinical services in the Emergency Department across a 24/7 roster.
  • Exercise professional judgment and clinical competence in a multi-disciplinary setting with limited or no direction.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the clinical floor efficiently.
  • Respond to hospital MET/Code Blue/Code Black calls as required by shift allocation.
  • Provide guidance, training, and direction to junior staff members when needed.
  • Participate in teaching, quality assurance activities, health promotion initiatives, and community education programs.
Requirements:
  • Hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent qualification. Be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another defined qualification in the SA Medical Officers Award.
  • Be registered as a specialist with AHPRA, holding specialist qualifications from RACGP, ACRRM, ACEM, and other relevant colleges.
  • Be granted specialist registration by the medical board for relevant specialties such as G/P, ACEM.
