Senior Manager, Operational Risk and Resilience

Credit Union Australia is on the lookout for a dedicated Senior Manager, Operational Risk and Resilience to enhance our team in a permanent full-time role.

In this pivotal position, you will be responsible for the ongoing advancement and effective oversight of Credit Union Australia's operational risk and resilience framework, including business continuity, crisis management, and governance of service providers.

This role provides flexibility, allowing candidates to work from home two days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulation, upkeep, and supervision of policies and standards aimed at minimizing business interruptions and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Coordination of response initiatives and validation of plans through simulations or exercises.
  • Creation and maintenance of policies and standards that support the management of service providers.
  • Oversight of control design and execution, regular reviews of risks and controls, and resilience assurance for compliance notifications.
  • Act as the second line risk representative in relevant risk forums, project teams, and steering committees.
  • Provide second line challenge and oversight concerning operational risks and governance frameworks.
  • Conduct analysis of risk profiles, incident data, and assessment of Key Risk Indicators, preparing insights for factual reporting on Operational Risk performance across the organization.
  • Assist in the development of key risk management framework documentation.
About You:

  • At least 10 years of experience in operational risk management or resilience management roles.
  • Proven experience in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating various risk types at an organizational level, including operational resilience, business continuity planning, crisis management, and service provider governance within the financial services sector.
  • Ability to manage and influence diverse stakeholders to address competing priorities and differing expectations.
  • Proficient in building strong relationships at all organizational levels to effectively communicate sound risk management practices.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory and compliance considerations in the financial services industry.
  • Strategic mindset with the capability to provide solutions to risk-related challenges.
