Family Lawyer Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Family Lawyer to provide legal representation and advice to Aboriginal victim-survivors of domestic, family, and sexual violence in Tennant Creek, Australia.

This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients. You will be part of a dynamic team providing culturally appropriate legal services.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent clients in Domestic Violence Orders and Victims of Crime Compensation matters, including occasional Family Law & Child Protection cases.
  • Work closely with Client Service Officers to deliver wrap-around support to our clients.
  • Build strong relationships with local communities and stakeholders.
  • Travel to remote communities for outreach and education.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Eligibility for an NT legal practising certificate (restricted/unrestricted).
  • At least 1 year post-admission experience (desirable).
  • Understanding of trauma-informed practice and DFSV issues.
  • Strong communication skills and flexibility to travel.

You must also possess a C Class Driver's Licence, Working with Children Clearance, and a clear Criminal History Check. Aboriginal language skills are highly valued (allowance available).
