The Instrument Technician Grade 4 will work alongside a team implementing our new electronic tracking system for Reusable Medical Devices (RMD), under the guidance of the Project Officer, Grade 5 Supervisor and NUM of CSSD. This will be introduced over all campuses.

Key responsibilities include ensuring instrument marking and program building are complete as per requirement, working and supporting other CSSD staff across both campuses, demonstrating knowledge and competency in cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing Reusable Medical Devices (RMD) in accordance with AS/NZS4187-2014 guidelines, and maintaining a safe working environment.

We are looking for an individual who is committed to Austin Health values, holds a Cert IV in Sterilization Services or equivalent, has minimum of 3 years experience in Sterilizing services in a hospital setting, and possesses previous knowledge and experience in Electronic Instrument tracking.

Our ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

They will also have a thorough understanding of the principles of infection control, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and hand hygiene practices.

In addition, they will be able to work effectively in a team environment, demonstrate adaptability and flexibility, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
