Armed Security Officer Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Armed Security Officer to fill a critical role in maintaining the security of our premises. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring perimeter security, responding to incidents, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

  • Patrol the premises to ensure all access points are secure and protected from unauthorized entry or exit.
  • Respond effectively to any incidents on site, providing immediate assistance and support as needed.
  • Detect and report suspicious behavior, taking swift action to prevent potential threats.
  • Assist in preventing and responding to escape attempts, utilizing knowledge of surveillance systems and security protocols.
  • Identify and report any signs of forced entry or exit, including damage to property or equipment.
  • Conduct regular checks of the perimeter fencing for defects or breaches of security, making recommendations for improvements as needed.
  • Ensure restricted areas remain secure and free from unauthorized access, addressing any issues promptly.
  • Address any unauthorized personnel in restricted areas, utilizing effective communication skills to de-escalate situations.
  • The apprehension and detaining of persons believed to have committed an offense, following established procedures and protocols.

Key Requirements:

  • Hold a valid National Police Check (NCP)
  • Be licensed under Category 1AC & F (Firearms) with a current National Firearms License
  • Possess a National Firearms Accreditation for Revolver & Semi-auto
  • Hold a current National Driver's License and possess a valid Certificate III in Security Operations
  • Have a minimum of two years' experience working in a capacity as an armed security officer
