About the Role

The TCP Key Worker will play a pivotal role in achieving better outcomes, consistent with case plan directions and any cultural support plans for children and young people receiving a TCP. The TCP Key Worker is a member of the Victorian Child, Youth and Family programs.

This is a full-time opportunity based in Footscray, VIC, within our Children, Youth and Family Services Program. The position reports to the TCP Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing case management and coordination services in complex family circumstances where multiple service providers may be involved, within a child protection system.
  • Working closely with Home-Based Care (HBC), Residential Care and Community Programs staff in each division.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with families, carers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and support.
  • Assessing risks, needs, and safety for children, young people, and families, and providing expert responses to their needs.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes for children, young people, and families.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, as well as an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, and/or related Behavioural Sciences at degree level, or an Associate Diploma with substantial experience in the relevant service stream.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide case management and coordination services in complex family circumstances.
  • Well-developed time management skills and the ability to manage competing demands and interests.
  • Maturity and flexibility in working with complex individuals and families.
