Role Overview:

The Social Emotional Wellbeing Case Worker position focuses on engaging with Aboriginal communities in South Australia to prevent and reduce gambling harm.

This role involves providing culturally tailored information, conducting brief interventions, and offering support for individuals experiencing harm. It also entails co-facilitating group programs that promote positive social connections and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Health Promotion: Design and deliver health promotional activities aimed at preventing gambling harm among Aboriginal people.
  • Community Outreach: Promote help-seeking behaviors within the Aboriginal community, ensuring accessible support services are available.
  • Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough intake and holistic assessments of clients, developing comprehensive care plans in collaboration with them.
  • Case Management: Provide ongoing support and guidance to clients, facilitating their recovery journey.
  • Networking: Establish and maintain relationships with service providers offering culturally safe support, enhancing access to resources for Aboriginal communities.
Requirements:
  • Post-school qualifications in health or social welfare.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal people and communities.
  • Sensitivity towards disadvantaged groups and an ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Effective communication skills and the capacity to build rapport with clients.

Working under routine supervision, the incumbent will collaborate with colleagues to contribute to projects promoting social and emotional wellbeing.
