As a senior occupational therapist, you will provide clinical governance, leadership, and expertise within the paediatric occupational therapy services. This includes the provision of safe, timely, compassionate, and high-quality person-centered care.
Job Description- The role involves supporting the implementation of the preschool health and development screening, and providing assessment, early intervention, capacity building, and direct care pathways for children in SWSLHD.
- Participate in the evaluation of Brighter Beginnings initiatives and assist in the development and provision of education and training programs.
- Provide supervision to level 1/2 occupational therapists, allied health assistants, and students as guided by the Head of Department and Brighter Beginnings Project Lead.
- Implement the preschool health and development screening program.
- Provide assessment, early intervention, capacity building, and direct care pathways for children in SWSLHD.
- Evaluate Brighter Beginnings initiatives and develop recommendations for improvement.
- Develop and implement education and training programs for staff and students.
- Supervise level 1/2 occupational therapists, allied health assistants, and students.
- Recognised degree in occupational therapy or other qualification deemed appropriate by the employer.
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and significant experience in the provision of occupational therapy services within paediatric populations.
- Demonstrated experience in the identification of evidence-based practice and/or development of treatment protocols.
- Demonstrated experience participating in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process.
- Demonstrated high-level organisational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision, mentoring of staff, and/or students.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in a range of programs.
- Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2).
