Job Title: Utility Meter Reader

With minimal training, you can join our team as a Utility Meter Reader. This role involves working outdoors and staying physically fit, which can be beneficial for your health and wellbeing.

We are seeking someone who enjoys working in the community and has strong communication skills. The successful candidate will walk or drive an allocated neighborhood to take and record utility meter readings.

The schedule is flexible, with deadlines that must be met. We provide uniform, PPE and on-the-job training to ensure you have everything you need to succeed in this role.

Required Skills:

  • A current valid driver's license
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently
  • Physical fitness to undertake walking, bending and squatting tasks
  • Adaptability to work in most weather conditions
  • Flexibility with daily travel of up to 45 minutes each way
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and good attention to detail

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately read allocated meter routes in a timely, efficient and safe manner
  • Understand and meet targets
  • Work independently but also collaborate with other members of the team
  • Regularly communicate with the office support team
  • Upload/download route information to/from a hand-held device
