Curatorial Researcher Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and skilled researcher to join our team. As a key member of our curatorial team, you will be responsible for conducting research, developing engaging content, and supporting a range of projects and initiatives.

About the Position

  • This is a full-time temporary employment opportunity for a period up to 18 months.
  • The role will work across Sydney, with opportunities to travel to multiple locations.

We bring together a portfolio of iconic museums, rich collections, and heritage sites. We manage NSW's official documentary heritage, supporting government transparency and the public's right to access information. Our mission is to share the stories of our places and collections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and develop engaging content that deepens public understanding of our valuable collections.
  • Support a range of projects and initiatives, including exhibitions, programs, and events.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement exhibitions and programs.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in history, museums studies, heritage interpretation, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a cultural, museums, or heritage environment.
  • Familiarity with current research methodologies and approaches, and evidence of their application to public-facing outcomes.
  • Experience working with software applications used to maintain and update information.
