Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Architect to join our team. As an Executive Data Architect, you will play a critical role in shaping the data architecture of our organization, ensuring that it meets the needs of our business operations and supports our strategic objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data security controls and be able to design and implement data architecture and integration frameworks that enable best practice data lifecycle management and ensure compliance with relevant standards, policies, and regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Mapping existing data holdings, inputs, and dependencies impacted by the project.
  • Investigating and recommending optimization of the use of data holdings for the different streams of the project.
  • Designing and implementing data architecture and integration frameworks that enable best practice data lifecycle management and ensure compliance with relevant standards, policies, and regulations.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to optimize existing reporting processes, including setting standards for data accuracy and quality.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • A working understanding of data security controls and the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of data security protocols.
  • Experience as a Data Architect in Australian Public Service settings, preferably within agencies with regulatory compliance responsibilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other areas in the division, the department, and across government to deliver outcomes and share knowledge.
Benefits

This is a 10-month non-ongoing position being filled specifically for this project. Extension or ongoing conversion may be considered upon completion of the project. The salary range is $122,235 - $129,811 per annum. A merit pool may be established and used to fill future vacancies within 18 months from the date the vacancy was first advertised in the Gazette.
