The practice is a busy mixed billing practice that is committed to their community of patients and the wider region. They have a large skin cancer procedures clinic and a midwife onsite, ensuring a diverse range of patient interactions.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages, including assessment, triage, wound care, immunizations, and administering medications as prescribed.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, maintaining a sterile and organized clinical environment.
- Conduct health promotions, educating patients on health and wellness, preventive care, and management of chronic conditions.
- Triage patients, assessing and prioritizing their needs, and making timely referrals to other healthcare professionals or services when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, including electronic health records (EHR), and ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards.
- Administer medications, monitor patient responses, and educate patients on proper medication usage.
- Implement and monitor infection control protocols, ensuring a safe and clean clinical environment.
- Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care, including CPR and first aid.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including general practitioners, specialists, and allied health professionals, to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and ongoing professional development to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.
- Provide patients with clear and understandable information about their conditions, treatment plans, and medications.
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse. Enrolled Nurses will also be considered, experience dependent.
- Demonstrated clinical experience, preferably in a general practice or primary care setting.
- Current CPR certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) training.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.
- A dedication to continuing education and professional development.
Working Conditions: Full-time or part-time positions available. Shifts may include weekdays, evenings, and occasional weekends. Fast-paced clinic environment with diverse patient populations. Opportunities for ongoing training and skill development.
