Environmental Planning Specialist

The City of Rockingham is seeking a qualified individual to fill this role.
- This position involves environmental impact assessments and providing environment advice as part of the strategic and statutory planning process.
- This role requires demonstrated experience and a strong knowledge of both environmental and planning legislation and guidelines.
Responsibilities will include:
- Undertake environmental impact assessments and provide environment advice.
- Manage specific environmental projects.
- Develop and implement environmental management plans, reports, strategies and policies in accordance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Comprehensive understanding of planning legislation and its relationship to environmental legislation.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the preparation and review of environmental management plans, reports, strategies and policies.
- Sound knowledge of environmental impact assessment in accordance with Part IV of the Environmental Protection Act 1986.
- Considerable experience in land use planning, environmental management, strategic planning and/or environmental planning at local, state or federal level.
- Degree in Environmental Science, Planning or a related field.
- Proven experience in environmental planning and management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
