Transforming the landscape of fraud detection is a mission-critical endeavor that demands exceptional skill and expertise.

About This Role

This position is part of the Fraud Investigations Management team within International Wealth & Premier Banking. The team conducts comprehensive investigations into fraud or scams impacting customers, working closely with stakeholders in IWPB and Financial Crime Compliance in 2LoD.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Manage incoming fraud reports submitted via the Fraud Reporting Exchange from external financial institutions, ensuring timely assessment and appropriate case handling. Prepare and issue outbound fraud reports to assist with the recovery of funds on behalf of impacted customers, adhering to internal procedures and regulatory timeframes.
  2. Conduct utility and proactive investigative work by leveraging internal systems and tools to detect patterns of unusual or suspicious activity on customer accounts. This includes analysing transactional behavior, identifying potential fraud or scam indicators, and escalating findings for further review or mitigation in line with established fraud risk protocols.
  3. Conduct thorough investigations into various fraud cases.
  4. Take immediate action to mitigate risks on accounts linked to fraudulent activity.
  5. Ensure that relevant ePayment code obligations are understood and met in day-to-day investigations.
  6. Communicate directly with internal staff and customers where necessary.
  7. Identify learning opportunities, control weaknesses, and drive process improvements based on the analysis of fraudulent activities during investigations.

In addition to these responsibilities, this role will also involve:

  1. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and address potential vulnerabilities in our processes and systems.
  2. Developing and implementing strategies to prevent and detect fraud, as well as mitigating its impact when it occurs.
  3. Providing expert guidance and support to internal teams and external partners on fraud-related matters.
