
Rail Infrastructure Development Manager

The Inland Rail Programme is a 1600km rail infrastructure project connecting Brisbane to Melbourne.
Your OpportunityWe are seeking a proactive Engineer to drive complex projects forward, ensuring timely delivery and lasting benefits for local economies and environmental sustainability.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate safe and compliant project delivery.
- Ensure project schedule targets and planning requirements are met.
- Monitor contractor performance and progress of operational readiness, quality, safety, and environmental objectives.
- Coordinate with the delivery team and broader Inland Rail project team for consistent, compliant, and strategic delivery planning and documentation.
- Coordinate with the independent verifier in their role.
- Assist with third-party agreements and compliance with state, local government agencies, and utilities authorities.
- Establish and administer property and access agreements.
- Monitor consultants and contractors involved in the project and the overall Inland Rail Programme.
- Assist the contractor in developing, coordinating, complying, and reviewing works and documentation for safety and quality expectations.
- Prepare documentation, correspondence, and submissions to gain approvals internally and externally at various management delegations.
- Administer contracts, including assessment and estimating tasks, validation of claims, and finalization of contract documentation.
You'll be a strong communicator with great interpersonal skills, a strategic thinker, collaborative, adaptable, and able to influence positive outcomes. Great communication and presentation skills are essential for collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements- Degree in civil engineering or equivalent qualifications.
- Experience in delivering large, complex, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
- Experience working with third-party agreements, deeds, licences, and administering agreements interfacing with state, local government, and utilities authorities.
- Able to work in an organised, well-ordered manner.
- Highly developed written and oral communication and presentation skills.
- Highly developed problem resolution and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen and experience working on large, complex shared-risk, alliance, or PPP projects.
- Sound knowledge of contractor management practices.
- Experience in operational readiness and completions processes.
- Experience working to standards and specifications.
