Are you a skilled software engineer looking to make a meaningful impact in the aviation industry? We have an exciting opportunity for a Flight Path Optimisation Software Engineer to join our team.

About the Role

This is a unique chance to work on cutting-edge algorithms and develop cloud-based systems that optimize flight paths, reducing fuel consumption and emissions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing new functionality for our Flight Path Optimisation Engine.

Our ideal candidate has a strong background in software engineering, with expertise in C++ and Linux. They should also have a good understanding of optimization techniques and path search algorithms. Additionally, they should be able to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new functionality for the Flight Path Optimisation Engine.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality code, adhering to coding standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to integrate new features and improve existing ones.
  • Support the deployment of the engine into its cloud-based environment.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Software Engineering or similar degree.
  • Strong software engineering skillset, including language skills in C++ or similar, experience using Linux Command Line Environment, and familiarity with Docker and Docker Development Environments.
  • Understanding of optimization techniques and path search algorithms.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
