Sydney, New South Wales, Australia beBeeLeadership Full time $180,000 - $250,000
Job Summary

Qantas has grown to become Australia's largest regional, domestic, and international airline. Our main business is transporting customers and freight using two complementary airline brands — Qantas and Jetstar — operating regional, domestic, and international services.

We're proud of our pioneering spirit in our people today. Our resilience has helped us through good and tough times, and it still drives us to push challenging expectations.

Our engineering team keeps us at the forefront of aviation, caring for and maintaining both the Qantas fleet, as well as aircraft for our customers across the Asia-Pacific region. We work with state-of-the-art equipment and resources, committed to professional excellence and customer safety.

The Manager Aircraft Performance will lead a team of specialist engineers, delivering operational and commercial value by managing and optimising aircraft performance. This role is critical in overseeing the efficient and safe operation of the fleet, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards related to aircraft performance and weight control.

This role requires close collaboration with Flight Operations and IT departments to ensure seamless integration and delivery of the overall service. Responsibilities include designing and implementing engine inoperative procedures, maximising payload capabilities, and maintaining compliance with regulations.

You'll have comprehensive oversight of Weight Control Engineering, including accurate weighing of aircraft, maintaining records of modifications affecting weight and centre of gravity, and ensuring compliance with CASA regulations.

This role will also manage high-speed performance through developing databases for fuel mileage and speed, ensuring compliance with EDTO regulations, and conducting analyses for terrain clearance and emergency oxygen availability.

  • Manage projects from planning to execution, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all relevant standards.
  • Develop and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Communicate complex technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
