We are seeking a Data Centre Security Operations Manager to join our team at Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Melbourne.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced security professional to manage the day-to-day security of our data centre facilities in Australia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing uniformed security officers, managing the security of sensitive facilities, and developing new processes to continuously improve security practices and operations.

You will work closely with our customers and Amazon teams to develop new technologies and deploy them across our operations, driving improvements in security metrics and program reviews. You will also oversee the work of cleared and uncleared vendors, contractors, and Amazon employees to ensure stringent security requirements are met.

As a security leader, you will engage with senior leadership across AWS and our customers, writing and presenting documents on your ideas, operational procedures, and results.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide comprehensive program security guidance concerning personnel, physical, operational, technical, industrial, counterintelligence, and media management.
  2. Create, implement, communicate, and manage security requirements at a large, government-accredited multi-facility site while providing day-to-day multi-discipline program security operations support.
  3. Draft and review security documentation to include transportation plans, procedures, and CONOPs.
  4. Proactively identify program and physical security requirements, problems, and sound solutions to successfully sustain and enhance the security of program execution.
  5. Perform and/or support the operations and maintenance of security hardware and systems employed onsite to meet government and AWS requirements.
  6. Develop and strengthen relationships with internal and external partners to heighten security awareness and engagement.

We estimate that this role pays around $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience.
