About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in corporate governance, contract and commercial law, intellectual property, public sector/administrative law, property law, and litigation/disputes. You will be responsible for providing timely, concise, and pragmatic legal advice and solutions to our staff and officers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing high-quality legal advice in a wide range of areas, including contract law, commercial law, administrative law, corporate governance, intellectual property, litigation and disputes, and property law.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of legal policies and procedures.
  • Collaborating with our Legal Services Unit to deliver high-quality, independent professional legal advice and compliance services.
  • Providing legal support across the university's functions, including contract drafting, negotiation, and review.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including staff, officers, and external partners.
Requirements
  • Admission in an Australian jurisdiction and NSW Practising Certificate (or eligibility to hold).
  • At least 3 years of post-admission experience working in at least two of the following areas of law: corporate governance, contract and commercial law, intellectual property, public sector/administrative law, property law, and litigation/disputes.
  • High-level conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide timely, concise, and pragmatic legal advice and solutions.
  • Excellent organisation, file management, and time management skills and consistent attention to detail.
