Job Overview

Visual Effects Project Manager

The Visual Effects Project Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the successful delivery of VFX projects. They serve as the primary point of contact for all aspects of production and post-production, ensuring seamless collaboration between departments.

This position requires strong organizational skills, exceptional time management abilities, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to prioritize tasks effectively, remain calm under pressure, and work collaboratively within a team towards a common goal.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Producers, Leads, and Supervisors to develop and implement project schedules, track workflows, and meet deadlines.
  • Oversee Coordinators to ensure efficient organization of daily operations, including dailies, rounds, and meetings.
  • Maintain an up-to-date production database with accurate notes and critical information.
  • Communicate changes to client sessions, dailies, or meetings directly or through Coordinators.
  • Promote open communication throughout the team and other departments.
  • Anticipate and communicate issues promptly to resolve problems efficiently.
  • Provide regular summaries of project progress based on previous day's artist work.
  • Take responsibility for knowing schedule details and advising Coordinators accordingly.
  • Oversee client deliveries for all temporary and final assets.
  • Collaborate with the Editorial department to manage edits effectively.
  • Coordinate resources and communicate effectively with support departments.
  • Maintain a positive and professional production office environment.
  • Be proactive and solution-oriented.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Senior-level experience in VFX production, preferably as a Coordinator or Line Producer.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and remain calm under pressure.
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on teamwork.
