Digital Production Manager Job Description

This position plays a pivotal role in the success of VFX projects. The Digital Production Manager is responsible for orchestrating all aspects of a project, including the creation and maintenance of shot and asset schedules.

The ideal candidate will work closely with the VFX Producer and Supervisor to ensure the visual effects team is well-organized and on target.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan and schedule facility resources with the VFX Producer and Supervisors.
  • Oversee daily assignments to individual artists and departments.
  • Evaluate individual artist strengths to cast projects and facilitate resource utilization.
  • BREAKDOWN shots and client feedback through understanding of the VFX pipeline and departments.
  • Track and update progress of VFX shots in database.
  • Maintain weekly client status reports.
  • Communicate with clients, editorial, artists, and management.
  • Manage daily calendar of meetings and reviews.
  • Motivate individual artists and teams.
  • Partner with VFX Producer to manage Production Coordinators and Assistants.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years VFX Production Management experience across live-action feature films.
  • A college/university degree or equivalent education/experience combination.
  • Thorough understanding of production pipelines and workflow within a VFX facility.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel (Project understanding beneficial).
  • Knowledge of ftrack or Shotgun preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High-level problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptability to change.
  • Extreme attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
