Accounting and Financial Planning Role

This is an opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Adelaide, where you can apply your commercial finance skills to drive cost efficiency and process improvements.

The focus of this role is on improving cost efficiency, driving process enhancements, and supporting operational decision-making. As a Management Accountant with strong manufacturing or production costing experience, you will have the chance to tackle real commercial challenges and see the impact of your work.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and update product costings, bills of material, and standard costs to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Monitor and report on production variances (yield, wastage, efficiency) to identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and dashboards to provide insights into business performance.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting cycles with accurate cost assumptions to inform strategic decisions.
  • Partner with operational managers to provide actionable insights into performance and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Analyse inventory movements and valuations to optimise working capital.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects linked to process improvement and cost optimisation.
Your Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proven experience in management accounting within a manufacturing, FMCG, or production setting.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, variances, and standard costing principles.
  • Experience with ERP systems (JD Edwards desirable, but not essential).
  • Able to work independently, hit the ground running, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • CA/CPA qualification (or studying towards) preferred, but not essential.
