Strategic Risk Leader

We're seeking a highly experienced Strategic Risk Leader to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping our enterprise risk strategies.

In this strategic position, you'll provide insightful guidance to senior leaders, ensuring our risk approach aligns with both purpose and performance.

About the Role

  • Develop and maintain a robust Risk Culture Framework to promote a strong risk culture across the organisation.
  • Conduct training sessions, assess risk culture effectiveness, provide guidance to business units, and champion a culture where risk awareness, capability, and continuous improvement are part of everyday practice.
  • Lead maturity assessments and develop strategies to enhance risk management capabilities.
  • Define risk appetite statements and tolerance indicators and monitor the bank's risk profile.
  • Deliver insights and direction to help guide balanced risk-taking that supports sound decision-making and sustainable growth.
  • Implement the Three Lines Model to define clear roles and responsibilities, enhancing ownership and transparency across the organisation.

About You

  • Be a confident communicator and trusted advisor, working closely with senior leadership and the Board.
  • Have over five years of experience in developing and maintaining enterprise risk management and risk culture frameworks.
  • Have deep knowledge of the financial services industry and APRA's Prudential Standards.
  • Be independent, self-motivated, and highly driven, with high attention to detail and a commitment to driving projects to completion.
