About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Designer/Drafter to join our team of passionate engineers, designers, and project managers. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical knowledge, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.

  • Import & manipulate vendor drawings/models.
  • Produce detailed mechanical drawings/models including P&ID's.
  • Export equipment/piping quantities.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical/Process engineers to deliver plans for construction.
  • Support project teams with documentation, revisions, and coordination of drawings/models.
  • Establishing & maintaining design templates and drawing standards.

This role offers flexibility and autonomy, allowing you to find an arrangement that suits your needs. You'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, develop your skills, and contribute to the success of our team.

You'll be responsible for working in a consulting environment, delivering projects as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-office team. Your proficiency in relevant CAD software, such as Autodesk Civil 3D (Civil role) & Autodesk Plant 3D (Mechanical role), is essential for this role.

The successful candidate will have experience in water and wastewater treatment and/or conveyance design, with a strong understanding of Autocad. They'll also possess a solid grasp of safety in design, constructability, operational practices, and relevant Australian standards and WSAA codes.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Proficient in relevant CAD software, including Autodesk Civil 3D (Civil role) & Autodesk Plant 3D (Mechanical role).
  • Experience in water and wastewater treatment and/or conveyance design.
  • Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of safety in design, constructability, operational practices, and relevant Australian standards and WSAA codes.
  • Relevant TAFE qualifications, diploma, or degree in drafting, engineering, or design.
  • Understanding of risk management and the ability to identify project and design-related risks.
  • Commitment to working safely and within our HSEQ systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across a multidisciplinary team.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills for engaging with a broad range of audiences.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
